Date Night Ideas in Mississauga: A Night Out With a Score

A date night in Mississauga that is not dinner and a film: thirty challenge rooms, a team of two, one shared score, open until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Date Night Ideas in Mississauga: A Night Out With a Score

Two people is a full team

Most date night ideas in Mississauga put two people on opposite sides of a table. Cube Challenges puts them on the same side of a clock. Two players is a complete team: you wear RFID wristbands, share one score, and take on thirty challenge rooms in whatever order you like, choosing one of three difficulty levels at every door.

Clear a room and the points go on your shared score. Miss it and you can step out, scan back in and try again. Your score sits on a live leaderboard next to every other team playing that session, so the rivalry is with them, not with each other.

Rooms built for a pair

  • Rainbow Mind: a colour station each, the correct button combinations, fast and without a mistake.
  • Crystal Maze: tilt the playfield together and guide the ball into the correct hole.
  • Worlderland: match the photos to countries on a world map, and find out who actually paid attention on holiday.
  • Candit: follow the on-screen instructions to make the desserts in a candy shop, without getting distracted by the sweets.
  • Buzzer Beater: as many baskets as you can before the buzzer, one hoop each.
  • Laser Maze: through a web of beams without tripping the alarm.
  • Bomb Squad: one calculation, under a clock, and a wrong one blows up the building.

Those are seven of the thirty rooms. Ten are Physical, seven are Brain and thirteen are Skills, and a session usually touches all three.

Timing the night

Friday and Saturday sessions run until midnight, so the usual shape is dinner first and the session after, or the session first and the post-mortem over dinner. Monday to Thursday runs 4pm to 10pm, Saturday from 10am, Sunday 10am to 10pm. There is no bar and no food service during a regular session.

Sixty minutes is a complete first visit. Ninety minutes gives a pair the time to go back to the rooms they were good at and push the difficulty up, which is where the scores climb. The price is the same every day of the week: $32.99 per person for 60 minutes, $38.99 for 90.

First date or fiftieth

A first date gets something to do and something to talk about, which is more than a table provides. A long-standing couple gets a difficulty level to argue over and a score to beat next time. Either way the format does the work: short rooms, a result every few minutes, and the choice of what to try next.

When it is the wrong call

  • If the evening is mainly about a long conversation. This is an active session, not a lounge.
  • If dinner and drinks are the point. There is no food service here; make it the stop before or after.

Before you go

Wear comfortable clothes and running shoes. Watch the briefing video once between you. 3185 Unity Dr, Unit 1, Mississauga, ON L5L 4L5 (directions). Book a session by choosing a date and a time; bookings can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice, and the FAQ has the full terms.

Questions

Can two people play on their own?

Yes. A team is two to six players, so a couple is a complete team with its own score.

Are we competing against each other?

No. The two of you share one score. The competition is with the other teams on the live leaderboard, which is usually the better arrangement for a date.

Which night works best?

Friday and Saturday sessions run until midnight, so dinner first and a late session is the usual shape. Weeknights run 4pm to 10pm.

Is there a bar?

No. There is no food or drink service during a regular session. Plan dinner or drinks before or after.

What should we wear?

Comfortable clothes and running shoes. The Physical rooms involve climbing and balancing; the Brain and Skills rooms do not.

What does it cost for two?

$32.99 per person for 60 minutes or $38.99 for 90, the same price every day of the week, so $65.98 or $77.98 for two.
